Renault presents visitors to the Frankfurt Motor Show with the prototype of a vehicle for the cities of the year 2030. Named the Symbioz model, since, according to the French brand, it is a concept that represents the vision of the future of mobility, being a car with the capacity to interact in symbiosis with cities, dwellings and road infrastructures. In fact, to demonstrate this interactivity between vehicle and housing, Renault did not just show the Symbioz Concept: also showed the prototype of a house that communicates with the car. “The way we use cars is changing. Full of technologies, vehicles are becoming a personalized and interactive space that connects passengers to other cars, people and objects around them, “points out the brand that justifies the reason that led her to present in an automobile event more than a car : “We can not think about the design of a car, isolating it from the ecosystem that surrounds us.”

The Renault Symbioz is an electric vehicle, of autonomous and connected driving, based on which, Renault will make a demonstration vehicle, at the end of the year. “This demonstration vehicle will integrate the medium-term vision of the brand and anticipate the Renault technology that customers will find in their cars in the near future. It includes an evolved version of Multi-Sense technology, which already adapts the environment and the driving experience to the mood or needs of the driver in some models of the current line, such as Mégane, Scénic, Talisman and Espace “, informs the brand.

Although it is a very elitist niche market, where numerous manufacturers compete to offer maximum comfort, luxury and exclusivity on wheels, Renault decided to enter this fight with an interesting proposal. This is the new Renault TraficSpaceClass. This new version of the French van arrives taking advantage of the 70th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival. Aesthetically, the TraficSpaceClass is distinguished from other versions of the line thanks to its chrome grille, painted bumpers and the SpaceClass logo on the front fenders. On the other hand, the body is painted in an exclusive color called ‘Gray Comet’, which combines very interestingly with numerous details in black enamel and with diamond wheels up to 17 inches. Depending on the configured version, the new Renault TraficSpaceClass can accommodate up to 9 passengers. The seats on rails in rows 2 and 3 allow more than 50 different configurations, which allows a great modularity. Rear passengers feel surrounded by a warm, spacious and comfortable environment.

Other features of the Renault TraficSpaceClass include darkened glass, climate control, individual LED lights for reading, leather upholstery specific to the versions packaged with the ‘Signature Pack’ package and the mobile central tablet. 220V sockets and USB inputs are available in all versions for recharging electronic devices. The SpaceClass version of Renault Trafic will begin its commercialization in the main European markets from September of this year. For now the prices have not been informed, so it will be necessary to wait to know how the model line will be composed. It is a vehicle oriented to a professional clientele that seeks to offer a high level of transportation service.

The wait did not last long. After launching the first two teaser-like images through their channels on social networks, Renault Sport’s new creation is now officially official. This is the new Renault Twingo GT, a more powerful version of the small urban Renault, which arrives with 110 hp under the hood. The French brand informs that the new Twingo GT takes as a base of aesthetic inspiration the prototype Twin’Run, to achieve a sport that will make its debut to the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to be held in the United Kingdom from next June 23. The Twingo is a very particular urban model, due to its engine and rear wheel drive and in the case of this new dynamic version, these qualities become even more attractive. The new Renault Twingo GT combines the qualities of rear-wheel drive vehicles, with a signature Renault Sport engine. It is a 898 cm3 TCe turbocharged block designed to develop 110 hp and 170 Nm of torque thanks to a new ECU calibration, a revised intake and a new chassis upgrade. To achieve a new balance, Renault Sport worked on different areas of the chassis, which included suspension improvements, new steering calibration and ESP-specific tuning for a more direct steering response and better dynamic performance. In terms of aesthetics, the Renault Twingo GT features 17-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust exhaust, side air intakes and an orange-trimmed Piment body, as well as three other exclusive tones for the model: LunazaGray ,Profond Black and White Glacier. In the interior, the Twingo GT has a series of orange finishes, aluminum pedals, a specially designed steering wheel, and the Renault Sport inscriptions on the door sills. To know the images of the cabin, we will have to wait for its debut in Goodwood in a few weeks.

The smallest model of the French brand tries to increase its sales with a special edition and limited to 2,000 units. This is the Renault Twingo La Parisienne, which for now is for sale only in France with a price of 14,700 euros. Developed along with the Smart Forfour, the Twingo is now offered with front-wheel drive and its characteristic three-door version to a five-door model, increasing its versatility and making it more practical, but it appears that it is not having the expected success . Based on the Intens + finish level of the Twingo, the ‘La Parisienne’ features a more elegant style reminiscent of the old 4L with carcases of mirrors in the black color, as well as in the embroidery grid, and has a decorative strip that uses the waist line with a good French taste.

In addition, the aluminum wheels are 16 inches with a diamond finish and center caps in the color pistachio green. A discreet emblem on the body side guards and door sills identifies this limited edition. Inside, the same pastel green color repeats on different elements, on the air intakes of the air conditioning system, on the edge of the dashboard and on the center console screen, as well as on the multifunction steering wheel controls. The equipment has also been upgraded with optional features now part of the series list, such as the Comfort package with automatic climate control, light sensors, rain sensors and curved lighting, plus rear parking sensors and a specific padding combining leather and fabric with seams on the armrests. For those who enjoy the open skies, the equipment can be further improved with a canvas ceiling. Mechanically there was no alternation.

One of the most interesting innovations presented by Renault at the Geneva Motor Show was the Renault ZOE e-Sport Concept. This is an impressive concept based on the small electrical of the French brand: the ZOE. The small sport is an evolution of the small electric model, which loses its tranquil character and urban image for a more proper aspect of a circuit. Just as it defines Renault, ‘from urban to suburban’, although it is really the transformation of small electric into a racing car. The ZOE e-Sport concept has two electric motors, each one on a single axle, with a total combined power of 460 hp, and a new, vastly expanded body made of carbon fiber.

At the front there are exaggerated air intakes and on the side we can appreciate the wide arches of the wheels. At the rear comes a prominent diffuser, but of course there are no exhaust outlets. The resulting image is spectacular, almost unreal. The ZOE is completely transformed and the new sporting design is reminiscent of the preparations that were made by Matra and Renault with the Espace F1 in the early 1990s, which fitted the engine used in the Williams-Renault Formula 1. The colors and design details are taken from the single-seater Renault Formula E team. Thanks to the manufacture in carbon fiber, the set weighs 1,400 kilos, counting also with the package of batteries, that weighs alone 450 kilos. This allows the ZOE e-Sport to reach 100 km / h in only 3.2 seconds.
